Matt Gumley is a New York-based musician and actor.


He launched his career at age 7, performing on Broadway as Chip in Beauty and the Beast. Since then, he has appeared 4 more times on Broadway in Mary Poppins, The Addams Family, Elf The Musical, and encores! Off-Center production of runaways the musical. In addition to live theater, Gumley has become a regular face in many households, with roles on popular TV shows such as Drake & Josh, Law and Order, and Modern Family. He can also be heard as Clod on nella the princess knight and Benny The Bull on Dora The Explorer.

At 5 years old, he began studying classical piano. in the years following, he has picked up numerous other instruments including Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Banjo, Sitar, Drums, and harmonica. However, it was during his tenure as a Broadway performer that he discovered his true passion was music and songwriting.


In May of 2016, he released his debut single, "Subway Rider", with an EP shortly behind it. His debut 4-song EP, "Six Degrees of Separation", was released July 2016. Defining his sound one catchy lyric at a time, he went on to release 3 music videos for 3 of the 4 songs on the EP, with a combined total view-count of over a million. Notable songs off of the EP include "Fallout" and "Make You Mine".


recently, matt gumley signed with “vyrus media” as an artist and is currently working on an album of new material. he and his band are playing local gigs throughout New York city, promoting some of the new material, yet to be released.

Matt is also the composer of a new punk/rock musical called “fat kid rules the world”, with a world premiere at uc davis in california set for fall of 2019
